Dennis Kimrey

Dennis Kimrey, 66 of Rural Woodward. Dennis died at his home Monday October 19, 2015. Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday October 24, 2015. Visitation will be after 1pm on Friday October 23, 2015, with family present from 5-7pm. He is survived by his wife Nancy; son Tim Kimrey of Perry; Daughters Carrie Kimrey of Woodward; Jennifer Peterson of Stuttgard Germany. 11 Grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Memorials in his name may be left at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. William Dennis Kimrey, son of William Tom Kimrey and Mildred Cole Kimrey was born August 6, 1949 in Perry, IA. Dennis died at his home on October 19, 2015 in rural Woodward, IA. He was 66 years old. Dennis attended Perry High School, graduating in 1968. Dennis was united in marriage with Nancy Ann Struve on September 24, 1971 in Madrid. They were blessed with three children Tim, and Carrie and Jennifer Kimrey. In his spare time Dennis loved fishing and camping. He looked forward to deer season, and couldn't say no to a good hunt. A favorite memory was a family trip to Canada where they roughed it on an island. He was a member of the Farm Bureau. Dennis held several jobs through the years including Oscar Mayer, Firestone and Construction, but farming was his passion. The family lived in the same home for 44 years and it holds many memories for his family. After putting in a full day's work, Dennis wanted nothing more than to spend quality time with his family. Dennis was a family man, and was proud of it .He loved the time he got to spend with his grandchildren and great grandchild. They were his world. Dennis is survived by his loving wife Nancy of Woodward; son Tim Kimrey and wife Sherry of Perry; twin daughters Carrie Kimrey of Woodward; Jennifer Peterson and husband John of Stuttgart, Germany; 11 grandchildren Connor Kimrey of Nevada, IA; Allison Schnirring and husband Tim of Bellevue, WA; Stephanie Baker and husband Kyle of Jefferson, IA; Alexander Messamer of Ankeny, IA; Riley Kimrey of Ames, IA; Brody Kimrey, Jackson Kimrey, and Quinton Kimrey, all of Perry, IA; Owen Peterson, Vivian Peterson and Benjamin Peterson, all of Stuttgart, Germany; and one great- grandchild Evelyn Bramer. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew; other relatives and many friends. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; Sister Audrey Walker and his much loved grandmother Lola Kimrey.
