Dennis Patrick Clark

Dennis Clark, 79, of Des Moines passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Kavanagh House on 56th. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale. Memorials can be made to the Franklin Senior Center or the DMACC Commercial Art Program. Dennis was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Richard and Elberta Clark. He lived in Atlantic, Iowa and graduated from Lewis High School. He later studied art at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and Creighton University. Dennis married Margaret Eggleston in 1965 and there were two daughters born to them Mary and Annette. Dennis worked for LOOK magazine from 1965 until 1972 and was Art and Advertising Director for Perfection Learning for 20 years. He also worked for several years as a freelance graphic designer. He is a charter member and past president of the Art Directors Association of Iowa. He also worked as a freelance graphic designer for many years. Dennis enjoyed spending time at both the Urbandale and Franklin Avenue senior centers where he and Margaret made many close friends. He is survived by her daughters, three grandsons - Lawrence Triplett, Sam Gladnick, and Andrew Glandnick.
