Donald D. Miller, 78, of Winterset, Iowa died of pneumonia, Saturday, November 19, 2005, at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset. He is survived by his three children, a son, Michael Miller (Darla) of Earlham; two daughters, Marsha Miller of San Angelo, TX, and Audrey Jennings (Bill) of Van Meter; five siblings, Leo ‘Bud’ Miller (Lucille) of Fresno, CA, Twayla Brown (Richard) of St. James, MO, Wanita Wabshaw of Valley Springs, SD, Larry Miller (Jan) of Murray, IA, Bernard Miller (Sharon) of Murray, IA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Lucille and Beverly; three sisters, Opal Harrison, Roberta Edwards and Arlene VonRay. Donald Dwight Miller was born May 29, 1927 in Clarke County, Iowa, the son of Percy and Edna (Luce) Miller. His marriage to Lucille Monagon took place on December 25, 1949, she preceded him in death. He later married Beverly McCauley on July 11, 1959 in Platte City, MO, she also preceded him in death on June 23, 2000. Donald was a life long area resident and had farmed all of his life. He was also a mechanic and had worked various places including the John Deere Factory in Moline, IL following his service in the United States Army. Donald was a member of the Issac Walton League, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8142 of Winterset and he served on the Winterset Coop Board (Heartland Coop). Donald loved to fish and hunt. Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, where family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., November 22, 2005 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare. Service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Burial: Winterset Cemetery, Winterset; where military honors will be preformed by the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8142 & American Legion Post 184 both of Winterset. Memorial: Memorial contributions may be directed to Farm Safety 4 Just Kids.
