Donald L Cave - Redfield

Donald Leroy Cave, 80 of Redfield passed away, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, October 24, 2015, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, with burial at Morrisburg Cemetery near Stuart. Friends may call after 3:00pm Friday, October 23rd at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel where family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm. Donald was born August 9, 1935 in Redfield, Iowa the son of Clinton Forest and Mable Ardie (Simonton) Cave. He attended Redfield Consolidated School and later enlisted in the US Navy. After being discharged from the Navy he met the love of his life, Kaye Marie McDaniel. They were wed in the Redfield Christian Church on June 25, 1960. They would remain in Redfield, raising their children, Bill, Pam & Donola. Donald was employed by Massey Ferguson for 15 years until they closed the Des Moines plant and then the maintenance department at Des Moines University Osteopathic Medicine. He would retire from DM University after 22 years of service. Donald's interests included restoring old cars, fishing and in later years tooling around in his golf cart. He is survived by his son, Bill & Cindy of Adel, daughter, Donola of Redfield, and Sister Darlene Hubby of Peru, 11 grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kaye, his daughter, Pam and son-in-law Steve Aldrich, his parents, Clint & Mabel, Sister Lola, and brother LaVern.
