Donald "Beans" Welder, age 85 of Yale, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at his home in Yale. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Yale Cemetery. Everyone is encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while attending the visitation and funeral service. Memorials will be given to the Church of Christ in Yale and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Donald "Beans" Gene Welder was born on March 13, 1935 at Perry, IA to John F. and Fern (Hoffman) Welder. He attended school at Perry. He served his country in the United States Marines Corp. He was united in marriage to Shirley Joanne Tasler, from Yale, at the Christian Church in Blair, NE on November 22, 1981. He worked at the Progressive Foundry in Perry, Oscar Mayer for 25 years, Wiese Industries and then did handyman work for many people. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Yale. He enjoyed roller skating, bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening, wood crafting and riding his bike. In death he rejoins his father, John Welder, mother, Fern Welder Rittgers, stepfather, Bob Rittgers, 2 sons, David and Andy Welder, brother, Ed Welder, sister, Hazel Graham and a half brother, Jim Coffin. Left to cherish Donald's memory are his wife Shirley, children, Rebbeca Meinecke, Rick (Jan) Vaughan, Lori (Maurice) Dailey and Robert Vaughan, grandchildren, Jordan (Amber) Vaughan, Jentry Meinecke, Reilly Vaughan, Logan Vaughan and Morgan Vaughan, great grandchildren, Elah Malloy and Ryker Vaughan-Zimmer, half-brother, Billy (Iris Ann) Coffin and a brother-in-law, Jim Graham.
