Donita Buckner Williams

On December 31,2021 Donita finished her work here on Earth. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Her new mission takes Donita to a wonderful place where she will be singing, dancing, and cooking to her heart’s content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed whenever she’s around! Donita was born on August 23, 1968 to David Lee Williams and Margaret Irene Buckner in Des Moines, Iowa. While here on Earth, Donita truly embodied a spirit of love and service. Her closest friends and family described her as having a heart of gold and to meet Donita was to know true love and laughter. Donita worked at Lutheran Hospital for 24 years as a housekeeper where she was able to use her gift or service and dedication to others. Donita is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jerry; children Martell Wilson Bolden Jr., ToriQuiesha Bolden, and Kyesha Buckner; grandchildren Smaje, King, Aviaunna, Bentli, Kamari, Kaison Ariah, Quincy, and Avery; siblings Davetta, Rachelle (TalBray Jackson), Billie, David, VanQuilla (Marsha); aunts Beverly (Donald) McQuerry, Teresa Hawkins, Mary and Keith Wilson; Uncles Reginald and Donnie Buckner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Until we see her again, Donita will be up in Heaven sitting on her front porch sipping and laughing and waiting with plenty of new recipes for her husband, Jerry, to eat when he gets there. She will continue to give endless love to her grandchildren, her children, her husband, her furbabies, Rufus and Mercedes, as she watches over them from Heaven celebrating their successes and joys and comforting them in difficult moments. A love as great as Donita’s will pass easily from her new station in Heaven to those she loves on Earth and she will be forever with us and in our hearts. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5", 2022 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory, 8201 Hickman Rd., Urbandale, IA 50322. The family would like to give a big thanks to the Unity Point Staff in the CCU and the ER Doctor who took such great care of Donita.
