Donna Rae Pohl

A Celebration of Life for Donna Rae Pohl will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. at the McCreary Community Building in Perry. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was in charge of arrangements. Graveside Services for Donna Rae Pohl have been changed due to the weather. A gathering of family and friends will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2023. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of these arrangements. Donna Rae Pohl, daughter of Glen Ray Pohl Sr. and MaryAnn Whitecotton Pohl, was born on August 21, 1962 in Perry, Iowa. Donna graduated from Perry High School in 1981, then went on to DMACC to get her degree. She lived in Perry all her life. Donna loved the outdoors and enjoyed family fishing trips and camping. She worked as a Billing Clerk at the hospitals in Des Moines and then at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry. Donna was an animal lover, and she especially had a soft spot for her cats and dogs. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church in Perry. Donna died November 30, 2022 at the Dallas County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Glen Sr. and MaryAnn, her grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. She will always be remembered by her sister Deb Giem (Mitch) of Bakersfield, California; brother Glen Pohl Jr. (Melissa) of Perry; nieces and nephews: Jesse Akers (Katie) of Panora, Tyler Draisey (Cinda) of Olaf, Kansas, Katie Pohl of Perry, and Jordan Pohl of Perry; great-nieces: Addilyn Amaya Grace Martinez, Sara Akers, and Nora Akers; great-nephew Julian Draisey; uncle Jim Pohl (Marie) of Perry; aunts Deloris Pohl of Des Moines and Nancy Squire of Des Moines; special friend Alan Sterns; other relatives and many friends.
