Doris Ann Henderson

Doris Ann Henderson, 72, of Adel passed away February 27, 2018 at Legacy Point in Waukee. Funeral services will be Saturday March 3, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Adel with burial at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Visitation will be Saturday 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at the church prior to the service. Doris Henderson was born May 15, 1945 in Belle Plaine to Theodore and Daisy (Force) Miller. Doris graduated in 1963 from HLV High school. She then attended AIB College and attained a degree. Doris was united in marriage to Douglas Henderson at a Methodist Church in Des Moines. Doris worked for 30 years at Panther Creek Church of the Brethren as a church secretary until her recent retirement in May. She was involved in many different church groups at the Adel United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Doris was very active in the community and loved to spend time at her grandchildren’s sporting events. She truly loved her family and her friends. Her delightful nature and glowing personality will truly be missed by many. Doris’s legacy will continue on in her children Dan (Kathy) Henderson and Debbie Henderson; grandchildren Haley, Wesley, Kawner (Zach), Kylee, Jordyn (Johnny), Gaige, Zaine; great grandchildren Aspen, Henlee, Serenity, Tayln; sister Betty (Wayne) Klemmensen; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Doug; son Darin and three brothers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family in Doris’s memory. Online condolences may be left on this site.
