Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare. Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the funeral home, with family present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial: Pleasant View Cemetery, Webster Township, Madison County. Memorials: American Diabetes Association (2600 72nd Street, Suite O, Urbandale, Iowa 50322). Doris Louise Weeks was born March 28, 1920 in Creston, Iowa, the daughter of John and Wilma (Dibel) Parsons. She graduated from Creston High School in 1938. Her marriage to Samuel Weeks took place on November 16, 1950 in Osceola, Iowa and to this union four sons were born, John, Dean, Dale and Dave. She was a homemaker during her married life and raised her children on the farm. She was a member of the Hawthorne Rebekah Lodge #350, serving twice as Grand Noble, and the J.D. Craven Women’s Relief Corps #322 of Macksburg. Doris was also a Macksburg Booster Club member. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Doris died Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset. She was 90. Doris is survived by her sons, John Weeks of Lorimor, Dean Weeks and wife, Nola of Pennsylvania, Dale Weeks and wife, Vikki of Winterset, and Dave Weeks of Macksburg; two grandchildren (James Weeks and wife, Shelly and Dusty Weeks and wife, Amanda). She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam in 1985; and a brother, Charles Parsons.
