Dorothy Bivans - Winterset

Dorothy Irene Bivans, 78, of Winterset, died Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated with the cremains being interred in the Oakwood Cemetery at Pleasant Hill, Iowa . Dorothy was born on April 3, 1935, at Iowa City, Iowa to Everett and Mamie (Moore) Wright. She was married on May 1, 1954 at Des Moines, Iowa, to Donald Ray Bivans. She had been a lifetime resident of Winterset and had been a homemaker. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Jerry Bivans of Winterset and Jacob Bivans of Des Moines; daughters, Debra Lincoln of Des Moines and Connie Young of Leon; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Mamie (Moore) Wright; husband, Donald Bivans; son, David Bivans; brother, David Wright; and sister, Evelyn Wright.
