Dorothy Mae Heckathorn

Service: She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd on January 12, 2003 and four siblings, Evelyn, Ralph, Marvin and Mable. Memorial: No services are planned. Dorothy and her husband, Floyd's cremated remains will be buried in the Ronan Cemetery, Ronan, MT at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer Association. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Neuenkirk of Winterset and her husband Francis; Gail Mattson of Walla Walla, Washington; two sons, Floyd Leo Heckathorn and wife, Jackie of Kearneysville, WV, Ron Heckathorn and wife, Louella of Duluth, MN; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Dorothy was born August 21, 1926 in Ekalaka, Montana, the daughter of Louie and Margaret Rose. She married Floyd ‘Bud’ Heckathorn on October 6, 1946 in Polson, MT and to this union four children were born. Dorothy was a homemaker raising her four children Wanda, Leo, Ron and Gail. She was not one to join organizations but preferred privacy and loved to read. She and her husband moved to Winterset in 1988 and had previously resided in Washington State.
