Dr. Kenneth A. Henrichsen, 68, of Winterset, died Saturday, November 22, 2014, at his home near Winterset. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 26th at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset. A visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Tuesday November 25th at Ochiltree Funeral Service where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund and online condolences may be made to the family at ochiltree.com. Ken was born June 24, 1946 in Cushing, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Dorothy (Rolfs) Henrichsen. He graduated from Holstein High school in 1964. Ken went to Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1970. Ken was united in marriage with Jeanne Baker June 1, 1968 at the Methodist Church in Humeston, Iowa. Three boys were born to this union, Michael, Patrick and Ryan. The couple moved to Neligh, Nebraska and to Audubon before settling in Winterset. Ken worked as a veterinarian for 31 years in Winterset and started the Winterset Veterinary Center. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s choir, Iowa Veterinary Medicine Association, Madison County Cattlemen’s Association and the Woodworker’s Club. Ken was a man who liked to stay busy and spend his time outdoors. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Henrichsen of Winterset; sons Patrick Alex (Sheila) Henrichsen of Des Moines, Ryan Mitchell (Tara) Henrichsen of Rochester, MN; grandchildren Will and Elise Henrichsen; Noah, Ella, and Anna Henrichsen; two sisters; mother in law Kitty Baker; other relatives and a host of friends. Ken is preceded in death by his parents; son Michael Henrichsen in 1972; father in law Max Baker.
