Dr. Thomas Touney

Thomas Christopher Touney was born October 26, 1979 at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. He was anxiously welcomed home by his eight siblings. He was the baby of the family. Tom attended catholic schools graduating from Saint Edmond High School. He enjoyed class studies, played the trumpet, and participated in football and plays. Tom attended Iowa Central Community College for two years and then obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Iowa State University.  Tom continued on to Des Moines University and graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005 with honors. Tom continued his professional studies and graduated from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology in 2009. Tom has worked as an anesthesiologist for the past 9 years. Currently in partnership with the Medical Center Anesthesiologist, PC.  Thomas also served as President for the Iowa Society of Anesthesiologists.      Tom's greatest love was his three boys; Alec, Brennan, and Callen. He enjoyed watching them play sports and being with them cheering on Iowa State, the Cardinals, the Vikings and Iowa Wild.  He was very involved in his boys’ schooling and activities outside of school. Tom enjoyed biking, trying different kinds of IPA's, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.  Tom had a great laugh, wonderful sense of humor, easy going, and a great conversationalist.     Tom is survived by his sons Alec (14), Brennan (12) and Callen(10).  His mother, Wynn Touney, and siblings Edward (Hiedi) Touney, Mary (Jerry)  McInville, Catherine Touney, Michael (Ann) Touney, Lorraine (Trevor) Itzen, David (Diva) Touney, Julianna (Sargon) Jacob, Daniel (Jen) Touney and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.      Tom was preceded in death by his father, Duane Touney, nephew, Duane Edward Touney, and niece, Lily Jacob. We love you Tom. We will miss you forever.
