Leona Wilson, 93, of Adel passed away peacefully on January 1, 2012 at Methodist West Hospital. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday January 4, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel, with burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 PM Thursday at McCalley Funeral Home where friends will greet friends from 4-6 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. Leona was born January 3, 1919 in Kansas City, MO, to Albert and Linnie Bell Cline. She was united in marriage on August 19, 1947 to Jay Eberhart in Kansas City, MO. In 1949 her she and her husband opened the Gambles store in Adel, IA. After Jay's death she married Raymond Wilson in 1984. During WWII she worked inspecting planes for the U.S. government war effort. She was active in the Adel Women's Club and at the Adel Methodist Church. Preceding Leona in death were her parents, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Chapman. She is survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great grand children, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan B. Koman Foundation.
