Eddie Eugene Macklin was born December 26, 1951 at the Dexter Hospital to Derwood "Jack" and Alice F. Macklin. Eddie was a life long resident of Redfield and a long time member of the Redfield Christian Church. He attended Dexfield High School. He worked at the Redfield Hardware Store specializing in bicycle repair. After high school, Ed worked at RAM Industries in Waukee wiring trailers. After RAM closed he was employed at Rhiner Bros Plumbing in West Des Moines. After Rhiners closed Ed worked at Walmart at Jordan Creek until his retirement in 2013. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and nephew Timothy Macklin. He is survived by his brother Jerome (Joyce), of Redfield, sister Cindy Wells, of Redfield, and many nieces and nephews. Ed belonged to Adel Masonic Lodge #80, Linden Chapter #482 O.E.S., Rebecca's and Odd Fellows. Ed loved his bicycles, his nieces and nephews and his great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday February 10 at Redfield Christian Church with burial at Panther Creek Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 PM Sunday February 9 at the church with Masonic Rites presented at 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be directed to Redfield Christian Church or his family.
