Edith Erma Mcclellan

Edith Erma McClellan, daughter if Allen and Zella Eich Hagaman, was born January 17, 1916 in Glidden, Iowa and died July 12, 2008 in Coon Rapids, Iowa at the age of 92 Years, 5 Months, and 25 Days. She graduated from Glidden High School in 1936. On October 23, 1936, Edith was united in marriage to Paul Ellsworth McClellan at Marshalltown, Iowa. They lived in the Guthrie Center and Bayard area until 1967 when they moved to Jefferson. Edith loved cooking, catering, in which she made many cakes, rolls and mints for special occasions. She also loved embroidery work, gardening and caring for her flowers. She was a school cook and cleaned houses for people. She also helped Paul clean the Jefferson school and local businesses. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Jefferson. Edith also belonged to the Greene Campers, which she enjoyed camping and the fellowship of the other campers very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, LeRoy, Wayne and Donald; one sister, Alice and her husband, Paul. Edith is survived by her two sons, Duane and wife Sheree of Guthrie Center, and Lyle and wife Judy of Coon Rapids. Six grandchildren, Curtis McClelland and wife Marci of Glenwood, Billie McClelland and friend Steve Gruhn of Spirit Lake, Deanna and husband Erick VanCura of Guthrie Center, Mark McClelland and wife Betsy of Pleasanton, California, Jessica Hemann of Guthrie Center, and Danny Hemann of Des Moines; four great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Rebecca VanCura of Guthrie Center, and Maggie and Kate McClellan of Pleasanton, California; other relatives and friends.
