Edward Braun

Edward Leroy Braun passed away at the age of 72 on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He was born and raised in Burlington, IA. He served in the US Army. He farmed for a number of years and spent his work years as a specialized mechanic for a handful of production industries. He retired from General Mills in 2011. He is survived by wife Anna M. (Hays) Braun originally of West Burlington, IA, daughters Angie Walters of Burlington, IA, Tamara (Eric) Thorn of Chatfield, MN and Kimberly (Mark) Smith of Des Moines. Edward was a loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. His life passions were fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. Services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Oncology and Infusion centers at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.
