Edward D. Coleman

Edward Coleman, son of Lester Coleman and Ruby Wessel Coleman was born July 31, 1936 in Adair County, Iowa and died December 29, 2008 at his home at the age of 72 years, 7 months, and 28 days. Ed spent his childhood in the Coon Rapids, Audubon, McClelland, and Greenfield areas. On April 25, 1959, Ed was united in marriage to the love of his life, Darlene Anderson, in Greenfield, Iowa. To this union, four children were born, Ed, Cindy, Brian, and Tim. Ed retired in 2003 after serving 38 years in the meatpacking industry for Oscar Mayer, IBP and Tyson. He will be missed by family, friends, and many former co-workers. He especially enjoyed coffee with friends, trips to the Black Hills, and working on his acreage. He was a devoted father and husband. Ed was a member of the Heartland Church of Christ in Perry. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Lee. Ed is survived by his wife, Darlene; sons, Ed Coleman (Peggy) of Perry, Brian Coleman (Karin) of Creston, and Tim Coleman (Kristin) of Altoona; daughter, Cindy Wilson of Carroll; grandchildren, Eli Coleman, Seth Coleman, Grace Coleman, Josh Wilson, Eric Wilson, Amanda Wilson, Noah Coleman, and Becca Coleman; great-grandchild, Jace Coleman; brothers, Larry Coleman (Janet) of Omaha, Neb., and Darrell Coleman (Cindy) of Cadiz, Kentucky; sisters, Frances Kent (Dean) of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Kathy Lambert (Barry) of Woodward, Iowa, Marilyn Fjeld (Don) of Lake City, Iowa, and Patricia Snell (Steve) of Greenfield, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
