Edward Spuzello

Edward Joseph Spuzello a lifelong resident and businessman of Des Moines, Iowa died at age 79 years old on Oct. 28, 2021. He was born December 18, 1941 to Frank and Rachel Spuzello. He attended and graduated from Elmwood Elementary, Callahan Middle School, Roosevelt High School and Drake University in 1964. Ed married his loving wife Marjorie McNeil in 1964. Ed’s most recent business was as the owner of Furniture Source, Inc. located in Clive, Iowa for 36 years. He recently sold the majority of his business to his son Todd and Ernad Mehinovic. He enjoyed being a businessman and having his own business. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motorhome and many months spent at their home in Venice, Florida. They visited many foreign countries, his most recent travels to Sri Lanka and Egypt. Ed has been battling cancer since 1988. He had been cared for and treated during those years by Dr. Roscoe Morton in Des Moines and Dr. Thomas Habermann at the Mayo Clinic for CLL/SLL. He was diagnosed in September with Large Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. He is survived by his wife Marj; sons Scott and Todd (Aixia); grandchildren Paul, Matthew and Chloe; brother Fred (Mary); and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory, 8201 Hickman Rd., Urbandale, IA 50322.
