Edythe Frances Conroy, daughter of Harry Davidson Bauman and Zelma Minerva Youngblood Bauman, was born October 30, 1915 in Beason, Illinois, and died November 29, 2010 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehab in Jefferson, Iowa, at the age of 95. When Edythe was two years of age, she moved with her family to Greene County to a farm south of Farlin. She attended the rural schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1933. She was very active in 4-H. On February 9, 1934 Edythe was united in marriage to Lyle Conroy in Paton. They farmed until they retired in 1978 and moved to their new home in Jefferson. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Joseph Women's Council. Edythe was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a 65 year member of the Entre Nous Club. Edythe enjoyed quilting, fishing, cooking, playing cards with friends and crocheting. Edythe was preceded in death by her husband Lyle on August 3, 1999, her parents, three brothers, Clyde in infancy and John and Wallace Bauman and two sisters Esther in infancy and Helen Bowles. Edythe will be missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Kenneth and wife Ramona and Keith and wife Joan, all of Jefferson; 10 grandchildren Cindy Conroy, Daniel Conroy, Kathy Lage and husband Brian, Joan Olsen and husband Kurt, Mary Boyett and husband Bill, Teresa Bleifus and husband Bobby, Sue McDaniel and husband Bert, Diane Conroy and husband Jeb Ball, Jennifer French and husband Cory and Jon Conroy and wife Angela, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great- grandchild, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
