Eleanor Marquardt - Adel

Eleanor Ann Marquardt, 80, of Adel, passed away January 14, 2013 from Alzheimer's disease. She was born August 28, 1932, to Emil and Gladys Hagg, and was the youngest of five children. On October 14, 1950, Eleanor married Gordon, and they shared 62 years together. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, walking, traveling, and country music. She worked for the Adel Community School district in the hot lunch program for several years. She worked at CDS Global until her retirement in 1994. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Gordon; two daughters, Debbie (Marc) Headington of West Des Moines, and Pam Dyer-Walters of Winterset; four granddaughters, Alissa, Amanda, Emily, and Molly; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kate Carr and Donnabelle Schabilion; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Emil Hagg; sister, Charlene Kellow; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 17, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Friends may call after 2 PM where the family will greet friends Wednesday, January 16 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
