Eleanor Sue Roberts

Eleanor Roberts, age 83 of Perry, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at the King's Garden Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, IA. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry with visitation with her family beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Everyone is encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing while attending visitation and services. Memorials will be given to Raccoon River Pet Rescue and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Eleanor Sue Roberts was born on May 27, 1938, at Woodward, IA and graduated from Perry High School. She was united in marriage to John Richard Roberts at the First Baptist Church in Jefferson, IA on June 30, 1957. She worked at Wil-Do Cleaners, the Perry Lutheran Home in Housekeeping and at Ben Franklin in Perry. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Perry, IA. Eleanor loved sewing, making quilts, her cats, and working puzzle books. She was also an avid reader. In death she rejoins her husband John Roberts, father, Gilbert Smith, mother, Lois Smith, brothers, George Smith, and Bill Smith. Left to cherish Eleanors memory are her children, Shona (Mike Harvey) Roberts, Kelly (Jessica) Roberts, Elaine (Scott) Stokely, and Lorri Brandt, 13 grandchildren, siblings, Sarah (John) Neu, Rick Smith, and Dixie (Dennis) Nelson, several nieces and nephews and her cats, Horacio and Critter.
