Elnour Deng-Kodet (65) passed away on September 27, 2024, at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, from cardiac arrest. A public visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Cathedral (607 High St, Des Moines, IA 50309) A mass of christian burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Glendale Cemetery (4909 University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50311) following the mass.
Born in Par Amyang Athedhuaye-Manyo County, Upper Nile state, South Sudan on January 1, 1959.
In 1983, Elnour started his business with opening a small shop in Malakal and continued his business in Khartoum. He went to Paloj Primary School-Meluth. Later, Elnour got married in 1991, and had three children and grand children.
In 1994, he stated a business trading between Egypt and Sudan. In 1997, Elnour sought refuge in Cairo, Eygpt, where he became a refugee. And in 2001, Elnour was accepted and resettled in the United States, residing in, Iowa. Later in 2011, God blessed him with a son, Kodiet and two daughters.
Elnour is preceded in death by his parents, Kwanyireth Nyawello and Nyayauj as well as his elder son, Sabit.
He is survived by some sisters, his brothers as well as his nephews and nieces.
