She met her future husband, Elmer Walter Libby at an Ice Cream Social at the Fellowship Church in Monroe Township in 1939. The couple were married on February 14, 1940 in Peru, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Irene and Walt. Elosia was a dedicated farm wife and mother who raised her children and assisted her husband with the many activities associated with farm life. The family lived on several farms in Madison County before purchasing a farm west of St. Charles in 1948. She lived in Madison County all of her life and retired with Elmer to their home in Winterset in 1985. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and creating wooden craft items alongside her husband, Elmer. Above all else Elosia would most wish to be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She is survived by her daughter, Irene (Bernard) Griffin of Ankeny; her son, Walt Libby of Winterset; three grandchildren, Brenda Mines of Madrid, Karen Kriz of Woodward, and Allen (Gina) Griffin of Des Moines; six great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Roberta Jacobe of Winterset. Elosia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer, who died January 16, 1992; and three brothers, Edward, Delbert, and Delmer Jacobe.
