Elsie Beaman

June 5, 1917 — January 23, 2007

Elsie was born June 5, 1917 in Earlham, Iowa, the daughter of August and Adella (Speer) Bloomquist. Her marriage to Claude E. Beaman took place on February 1, 1941 in Panora, Iowa. Claude preceded her in death on February 12, 2004. Elsie is survived by her son, Gary of Winterset; a grandson, Matt Beaman and wife, Melinda of Monmouth, Oregon; a granddaughter, Velesa Beaman of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a sister, Augusta ‘Gus’ Rehard of Winterset. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude; and siblings, Vera Kerwin, Inez Hartman, Geraldine Bloomquist, Carl Bloomquist, Kathryn Bly, Harold ‘Bud’ Bloomquist, and Leo Iiams. Elsie was a homemaker. She was member of the Webster Methodist Church and then the Worthington Methodist Church and enjoyed being involved with the church youth. She was also a member of Farm Bureau and was interested in community affairs. Elsie loved music of all kinds and enjoyed playing the harmonica and piano. She also liked baking, cooking and crocheting. Elsie Beaman died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the Winterset Care Center South in Winterset. She was 89 years old. Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday where family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. January 29, 2007 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, Iowa. Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, Iowa. Memorial: Memorials may be directed to Mrs. Beaman's family.
