Emery J. Pisut

Emery Joseph Pisut, 85, of Norwalk, Iowa, died on July 15, 2021, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at St. Augustin Catholic Church in Des Moines from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary service beginning at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at the church. Pisut Funeral Service will be in charge of the graveside service at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 24, 2021, at St. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Joliet, Illinois. Emery was born July 19, 1935, in Joliet, Illinois to Mathias and Helen (Rohaj) Pisut. He graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1953. After high school Emery joined the United States Army. He married Raymonda “Rae” Theodore in 1963. Emery worked and retired from United Airlines as a Customer Service Agent. Emery is survived by his wife; sons, Anthony Pisut and Fr. Christopher Pisut; daughter, Gina (Joseph Pickell) Pisut, PhD, and grandsons, Jared Shelton and Dominick Shelton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Stephen Pisut Sr, Agatha Pisut, Gertrude Zalar, Anna Mae Phalen, Mathias Pisut, Jr., Mary Helen Crabbe, Clement Pisut, Theresa Burnes and Barbara Pisut.
