Eudell Mae Garrett, of Adel, passed away at age 80, on January 19, 2022, in Des Moines, Iowa. Born on June 8, 1941 to Earl Andy Burke and Mildred Luverne Burke, Eudell spent her childhood on a farm near Manson, Iowa. After high school, Eudell worked as a waitress at Treloar’s restaurant in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Russell Garrett, and became his bride on April 29, 1961. Ken and Eudell began their life together in Seattle, Washington, eventually moving back to Manson, Iowa in 1963. Together, Eudell and Ken raised four boys and one daughter. In 1978, the family moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa, where they lived a happy and full life, until finally retiring to Adel, Iowa in 2007. Though hindered by MS, Eudell made the most of her time. She led an active church life, was an avid quilter and was the glue that kept her far-flung family connected. Eudell is survived by her husband, Ken; sons, Ricky (Sally), Todd (Lisa), Chad, and Kirk (Sandra); her daughter, Kim (Loren); 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sisters, Donna and Sharon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred Burke. We have all been shaped by Eudell’s strength, her resilience, and her love for Jesus Christ. We will miss her dearly.
