Eva R. Button Adel Eva Rose Button, 86, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. She was born on June 6, 1927 and grew up in DeSoto, Iowa. In 1947, Eva married the love of her life, John F. Button Jr., who preceded her in death 18 years ago. Eva was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank F. and Hazel L. Hunter and siblings Joy Wiley, Lawrence Davis, Ruby Gumbel, James Hunter and Velma Holub. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Weeden of Richardson, Texas and Barbara Keller (Steve) of Adel, Iowa; her sons, Jack Button (Vikki) of Celina, Texas and Tom Button (Norberto) of Kansas City, MO; her sister, Opal Hunter Clark; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. Eva was a member of the S&V Club in Adel and loved to cook and play kickball with her grandchildren. Eva and John owned the Arlington Hotel in Adel and she worked many years in the property tax division of the Dallas County Treasurer's Office. Eva was known for her love of dancing. Whether it was dancing in the kitchen as she cooked or waltzing with John at the Lake Robbins Ballroom, Eva would always find the joy in life and in others. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 28 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family would like to give a huge thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Spurgeon Manor. Our Eva's life was blessed in having such angels taking care of her in her last years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center, Iowa.
