Evana Schio

Evana Roscella Schio, age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18th, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born on January 20th, 1956 to Antonio Schio and Armandina Venturella in Lonigo Di Vicenza, Italy. While growing up in Italy, Evana enjoyed dancing at the discoteca, skiing with her family in the Swiss Alps, fashion, and roller/ice skating. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and missed her family greatly while living in America. Evana moved to the states in the early 1980s, and resided in Des Moines, Iowa for the past 38 years. Evana held many jobs helping others including: at home daycare, teacher, and medical transporter. Everyone that met and knew Evana felt her resilience, warmth, sense of humor, and generous soul. Her home was open to anyone without judgement, she enjoyed meeting new people and there was not one person that was a stranger to her. She will be remembered most as a social butterfly with a lively spirit that loved to sing and dance. Evana is survived by her four children; Crystal, Tyler (Ayla) Larson, Anthony (TJ) Sonius & William Salazar; brothers, Danilo & Walter (Angela) Schio, and her many friends and close family members. She is preceded in death by her father Antonio, mother Armandina, brother Luigi, and sister Mirella Schio and members of the Schio family. Family and friends are invited to Sunshine Open Bible Church at 2130 Easton Blvd., Des Moines, IA 50317 at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 27th, 2021 for a memorial service with a celebration of life to follow from 3:00-4:00 PM.
