Dolly was born on August 16, 1947, in Lansing, Iowa, to Donald and Opal (Severide) Pierce. Dolly grew up in Lansing, and along with her 10 siblings moved to Adel, Iowa when she was a Sophomore in High School, where she participated in cheerleading.
On December 10, 1966, she married the love of her life, Willard (Bud) Flesher. They lived briefly in Council Bluffs and Adel, before moving to Waukee where they put down roots and bought a fixer-upper. For 53 years, they built a home and life full of love. She took pride in her family and spent her life devoted to them. Dolly always ensured her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and anyone in need were cared for, even taking many of them in to live with her. Dolly spent many years babysitting and providing childcare to many children including her grandchildren. Dolly also loved gardening, painting, crafting, camping, and attending the Iowa State Fair, where she would go through the craft tents and barns repeatedly stating, “I can make that”. Dolly always had a project and she “voluntold” Bud and her children, so they knew exactly what was to be done. However, there was nothing she loved more than Bud, and for 53 years their family was able to witness true love. Their life together made us believe that true love and soul mates exist.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michelle Flesher of Des Moines, Ronda (Darrell) Langworthy of Granger, Kris Freerksen of Des Moines, Jeff (Tania) Flesher of Waukee, Janelle (Joe) Valadez of West Des Moines, Brittany (Austin) Morrow of Elkhart, Tyler (Joslynn) Flesher of Waukee, and BriAnna (Travis) Bass of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Andrea, Zachary, Erin, Nicole, Joshua, Anna, Brady, Abby, Caleb, Dylan, Mallory, Andrew, Aylie, Addilyn, Scarlett Grace, Willow; and 6 great-grandchildren. Also, mourning her loss are her sisters, Bonnie Olson, Janet Corrigan, Brenda Pierce, and Laurie (Pierce) Crawford; her brothers, Bruce and Roger Pierce; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dolly was especially close to her nephews, Brandon and Brett Corrigan.
Dolly was preceded in death, by her parents, Donald and Opal Pierce; her husband, Bud Flesher; her sisters, Donna Powers, Rebecca Moore, and Jeanette Mobley; and her brother Jerry Pierce.
