She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; brother, Bernard Hollingsworth; and a sister, Doris Griswold. Evlyn worked in a defense plant during WWII, and later owned and operated the Red Hen Drive-In in Winterset. In her spare time, she was a dressmaker and did sewing for many of her friends. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Winterset. Evlyn was also a member of AARP and Progressive Study Club, and regularly volunteered at the hospital and the care centers in Winterset. Evlyn passed away Monday, November 12, 2007. She was 96. Visitation: Evlyn Conley was born July 17, 1911 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Dennis and Bess J. (Lorimor) Hollingsworth. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1928 and from Iowa State University in 1932 where she received a Bachelors of Science degree in Home Economics. She was united in marriage to Raymond D. Conley on January 25, 1941. Survivors include her son, Dennis Conley and wife, Marsha of Lincoln, NE; two sisters, Helen Jackson of Winterset and Mary Norberg of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Scott Conley and wife Rose of Cincinnati, OH; and Robin Conley and husband, Jeff Henke of Ft. Collins, CO; and a great grandson, Gabriel, son of Scott and Rose Conley. Service: Memorials may be directed to the family. Memorial: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset, Iowa.
