A service for Faye Shirley Ayres was held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Pastor Greg Friedrich from St. Jude Hospice out of Panora and Urbandale provided words of comfort. Faye's honorary bearers were her grandchildren: Lisa Sufficool, Stephanie Wells, Jenny Green, Monte Ayres, Melissa Noel, Michael Ayres and Michelle Dupell. Recorded music: The Wind Beneath My Wings, Take My Hand Precious Lord and You Light Up My Life. Following the service was a luncheon at Alan & Linda Ayres home. Interment will be at a later date. Faye Shirley Ayres, daughter of Everett Kivell and Ethel Beasley Kivell, was born on January 10, 1923 at home in Greene, Iowa and died May 27, 2013 in Perry, Iowa. Faye and her family moved to Shell Rock, Iowa where she graduated from high school. After graduation she taught at a County School in North East Iowa. On March 15, 1944 Faye was united in marriage to Wilford Ayres. The couple made their home in Tacoma, Washington. They were blessed with three sons; Mitch, Alan and Verle. Faye and her family later moved to Shell Rock, Iowa then settled in central Nebraska where they farmed for many years. Faye was creative and had her own ceramic shop where she gave lessons and fired ceramics in her kiln. She also spent a number of years making porcelain dolls. They moved to the Waterloo, Iowa area where they lived until Wilford's retirement, then relocated to Murdock, Nebraska. Faye enjoyed cooking, reading, her pet dogs, and being outside in her flower garden. After her husband's death in 2007 Faye moved to Perry, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her parents Everett and Ethel; husband Wilford; brother Floyd Kivell and sister Francis Bowen. Faye is survived by her three sons: Mitch Ayres and his wife Kathy of Lincoln, NE; Verle Ayres and his wife LouAnn of Papillion, NE; and Alan Ayres and his wife Linda of Perry; seven grandchildren: Lisa Sufficool, Stephanie Wells, Jenny Green, Monte Ayres, Melissa Noel, Michael Ayres and Michelle Dupell; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-laws: Elanor Brekhe and Phyllis Bowling; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. www.hastingsfh.com
