Fern Jeanette Tracy - Winterset

Fern Jeanette Tracy, 91, of Winterset, Iowa, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at her residence in Winterset. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Dr. Bobby Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery. Jeanette was born on October 2, 1923, at Des Moines, Iowa to Clinton and Sarah (Kent) Younker. She lived her early years in Indianola before moving to Winterset. She attended Winterset High School and later married Raymond D. Tracy on September 6, 1941 at Lancaster, Missouri. She had lived in Madison County most of her life, having lived in Winterset for the past 22 years and St. Charles the prior 44 years. Jeanette had been a homemaker and helped her husband, Raymond, with restoring antique cars for many years. She was a member of the Central Iowa Model A Club and the Early Wheels Club. Jeanette is survived by her son, Larry (Doris) Tracy of Clive; grandchildren, Tim Tracy, Terry (Susette) Tracy, Tom (Tori) Tracy, and Tami (Ryan) Kessler; great grandchildren, Tasha, Tony, Karissa, Sierra, Nick, and Addi; step great grandchildren, Bryon and Corina; great great grandchildren, Ivy and Lily; step great great grandchildren, Mallori, Ryan, Paige, and Anne; and brother-in-law, Wallace Tracy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Sarah (Kent) Younker; husband, Raymond Tracy; brother, Harold Younker; and sisters, Roberta Baysinger and Grace B. Nyswonger. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 8 PM at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM. Memorials given to the family will go towards fighting macular degeneration.
