Frances Allgeyer

Frances was born December 29, 1913 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Otis and Henrietta (Newerf) Allgeyer. Frances graduated from Winterset High School and later attended Drake University. During her working career Frances worked as a secretary beginning her work with Winterset Attorney W. T. Guyer and when he retired she worked with Attorney John Hartley. She later worked with the Madison County Farm Bureau Office from where she retired after 40 years. She was preceded her in death by her parents and a brother, Charles ‘Bud’ Allgeyer and wife, Dorothy. Frances was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and collecting antiques. Frances was a loving aunt and great aunt and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her niece Fran Thompson and husband, Ray; two great nephews, Tony Thompson and wife, Janel and Eric Thompson and wife Deena; a great niece, Danielle Landers; a great-great niece, Regan; four great-great nephews, Bryce, Brady, Ty, and Tate; extended family and a host of friends. Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday where family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. January 28, 2007 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, Iowa. Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday January 29, 2007 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, Iowa. Memorial: Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church or Middle River Hospice, both of Winterset, Iowa.
