Frances Nadine Friedrichsen

September 9, 1929 — May 22, 2009

Frances Nadine Friedrichsen, daughter of Vinton Parker and Laverna "Babe" Black Parker, was born September 9, 1929 in Perry, Iowa, and died May 22, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 13 days. Frances graduated from Perry High School in 1947 and then took clerical training. She married Kenneth Harry Friedrichsen on December 12, 1952 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. They were parents of two sons, Darrold and Kent. The couple made their home in Perry for 15 months while Kenny farmed with his family. In March of 1954, they moved to the homestead of his uncle, John Friedrichsen, where they continued to live. After Kenny's death May 19, 1994, Frances stayed on the farm until she switched residences that year with Kent and Heather. Frances had enjoyed traveling with Kenny and the boys, first by car and in later years by motor home. She worked for many years in various positions at First National Bank in Perry until she retired in 1983. Frances was a people person and had a busy social schedule. She enjoyed bowling, needlework, sewing, and being a part of her Fairview United Methodist Church and Fairview Ladies Aid. The "Four Fives", Frances, Ione, Velma, and Eleanor, were an important part of her life and they enjoyed many good times together. However, Frances' main love was her family and especially her grandchildren. She was such an intregal part of each of their lives. In addition to her husband Kenny, Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Carl Reves, and an infant brother. Frances is survived by her sons, Darrold of Woodward and Kent (Heather) of Perry; 5 grandchildren, Amanda Campbell (Brett) of Omaha, NE; Cullen Friedrichsen of Perry; Helen Friedrichsen of Perry: Brittany Friedrichsen of Woodward; and Parker Friedrichsen of Perry; 3 great grandchildren, Brennan, Kaitlinn, and Mikaila Campbell. Frances is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Wilma Hoffman of Ogden and Arlene Schnoor of Bouton; and brother-in-law Eugene Friedrichsen of Woodward, other relatives and many, many friends.
