Francisco Gabriel Castillo, 64, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 with his family by his side. A visitation gathering will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 PM followed by a vigil service for all friends and family at 6:00 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory in Urbandale. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic church in West Des Moines, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Puppy Jake Foundation of Iowa in Urbandale. Frank, also known as Paco, was born July 17, 1953 in Acapulco, Mexico to Teresa and Francisco Castillo. He moved from Mexico to Chicago, Illinois during his childhood. At the age of 18, he moved to Mexico City, where he courted and met the love of his life, Patty. In early marriage, they moved back to the US and had two children, Nicole and Christian. Setting roots in Des Moines, Iowa, Paco fulfilled the American dream through a successful career at Roto-Rooter (1988) relocating for various promotions in Texas, Illinois, Missouri, and ultimately coming back to West Des Moines as President of the Roto-Rooter Services Company in 2014. Paco enjoyed doting on his grandchildren, traveling in style, experiencing a variety of cuisines, and celebrating through socializing and being with family and friends. Consistent themes in the description of his character are joyful, charismatic, generous, and loyal. Paco lived his life through the words of the band the Rolling Stones. “You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well you just might find, you get what you need.” Paco is survived by his wife, Patty; daughter, Nicole (Mike) Waller; son Christian (Joanna) Castillo; brothers, Luis (Wendy) Castillo; Bill (Sharon) Castillo; sister Veronica (Brian) Thompson; grandchildren (Nicole and Mike) Isabel, Noelle, and Jackson Waller. In-Laws, mother Elsa Bermudez; brothers and sisters Elsa and Homero Ayala, Lety Del Rivero, Jorge Del Rivero, Nieces and Nephews (Elsa and Homero) Elin Oliveri (Sal), Alexis Ayala, Cindy Mannino (Vincenzo), Jake and Julia (Luis and Wendy) Castillo, Addison Thompson (Brian and Veronica); Rick and Lauren (Bill and Sharon) Reid. He is also survived by several Great-Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by Jorge Del Rivero Tovar, Tere (Teresa) Picazo, and Francisco Castillo.
