Frank Corbett “Corky” Johnson passed away on July 14, 2017 at Kavanagh House in Des Moines, just shy of his 70th birthday. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 19 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Frank was the son of Neva and Clayton Johnson. He attended Adel High School and lived in Adel his entire life. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 40 years and retired in 2007. He and his wife, Jacque, own Adel Quilting & Dry Goods Co. Frank was a man of great collections and great love for his family and friends. He was passionate about NASCAR, keeping the local bird and squirrel population well fed, and living out his inner cowboy. Frank, a great listener, could always be counted on to help a friend in need. His quiet presence and sage advice will be dearly missed. Frank is survived by his wife Jacque of 16 years, and children Brookly McLaughlin, Gabriel McLaughlin, and Willow (Seth) Hill. His three grandchildren were the light of his life. Frank was predeceased by his sister Shirley, brother Bill, brother Lloyd, and his parents Neva & Clayton. Memorial donations can be made to the family for a future designation. Online condolences may be left on this site.
