Frieda Jensen, 92, of Winterset died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Van Meter with burial immediately following in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation with family will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to funeral services. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Organ Fund. Frieda Laura Rehbein was born on March 17, 1921 in Dallas County to Henry and Laura (Eichner) Rehbein. She attended a one-room country school through 8th grade then graduated from Van Meter High School in 1938. She worked in Denver and San Diego during the 1940s. Her marriage to Harold William Jensen took place at the Trinity Lutheran Church on March 25, 1951. Frieda was a dedicated farmwife and mother, helping her husband on the farm and attending to the needs of her children. She was kept busy as a farmwife with raising chickens, milking cows and tending to her large vegetable gardens. She enjoyed quilting and sewing but above all else she loved her family and any time she could spend with them. She was a life-long member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she participated in many groups, including Ladies Aid and church choir. Frieda is survived by her three children, Mary Ann (Mark) Behrens of Moline, IL; Wilbur Dale (Kathy) Jensen of Springfield, IL; William (Janice) Jensen of Van Meter; 5 grandchildren, Brent and SSgt. Bryan Behrens; Chris and Kayla Jensen; Lacey (Alex) Young and 2 great grandchildren, Isaiah Horn and Kendall Young. She is also survived by four siblings, Pauline Erickson of Winterset; George (Marilyn) Rehbein of Des Moines; Herbert Rehbein of Sun City, AZ; Irene Koch of Van Meter; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who died October 22, 2008; a great grandson, Elijah Horn; and siblings, PFC Leo Rehbein, Alma McClelland and Larry Rehbein.
