Bob was born August 11, 1915 in Esmond, South Dakota, the son of George and Helen (Cameron) Pilmer. His marriage to Esther Tyer took place on March 17, 1939 in Winterset. Winterset Cemetery, Winterset, Iowa Bob spent most of his life in Winterset as a farmer, retiring in 1998. He was honored as a 75-year member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Winterset. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. of Winterset, Madison County Farm Bureau for 50+ years, a 15-year member of M & W Farm Service Board of Directors, served one term as Hooten School Board Director, and served on the Lincoln Township Board of Trustees. Bob was also a 4-H leader and member, receiving the 4-H Family of the Year Award in 1965, was a member of the Winter-Sets Square Dance Club, and he and his wife, Esther were honored as King and Queen of the Madison County Covered Bridge Festival in 1994. He is survived by his wife, Esther of Winterset; two daughters, Roberta Johnson and husband, Leland of Orient, Iowa and Mary Miller and husband, Carl of Peru, Iowa; two sisters, Mary Alice Winters of California and Ruth Newbury of Lincoln, Nebraska; eight grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Erik Miller, Nathan Miller, Bradley Robert Wickham, Timber Johnson, Lara Edwards, Robyn Johnson and Melodee Johnson; and 3 great grandchildren, Wyatt Miller, Cheyenne Miller, and Jacob Williams.
