A service for Gabe was held 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, Iowa. Words of comfort were provided by Pastor Brad Barrett of Stonebrook Community Church in Ames, IA. The casket bearers were Grandpa Phil Creese, John Cornelius, Chris Sorenson, Ryan Hass, Dan Chargo, James Gough, and Joe Meier. Interment was at Richland Township Cemetery in Bagley, IA. A time of lunch and fellowship was held at the Jamaica Community Building in Jamaica, IA. Gabriel Morgan Creese, son of Lea Marie Bauman-Creese and Phillip Moin Creese Jr., was born July 8, 2004 and earned his wings on February 16, 2012 at the age of 7 years old. Gabe was born with a rare genetic disorder called mucopolysacchridosis II or Hunter Syndrome. Gabe went to Perry Elementary School and was in the second grade. He loved school and rode the bus. Gabe especially loved his special education teacher, Diane Peterson. He enjoyed riding on the golf carts, combines, or anything with wheels and speed. Gabe also loved being outside and being barefoot. He loved the water. Gabe also loved softball as he could always be found at the softball field looking for something to hit with his bat. Gabe loved life to the fullest and had an understanding beyond his years. He found joy in everything. Gabe was his own person and was loveably ornery. Gabe is preceded in death by his great grandparents Arvid Bauman, Evelyn Creese and Gudrun "Goodie" Norgart, Grandpa Jeffrey Bauman, Uncle Evan Creese, and his best friend Grandpa Walt Sellers from Bagley. Gabe is survived by his mother, Lea Bauman-Creese of Perry, his father Phillip Creese Jr. of Woodward, grandmothers Vickie Sellers of Bagley, and Cathy Creese of Perry; and grandparents Phillip and Michelle Creese Sr. of Woodward. Gabe is also survived by his great grandparents, Phyllis Bauman of Eagle Grove; Herb Creese of Panora and Elmer Norgart of Perry; uncle Chris Sorenson of Ames, and aunts Cris (Clint) McAfee of Osceola, and Stephanie (Rick) Sloss of Perry; many special family members and friends. Memorials in Gabe's name are suggested and will be used to defray medical expenses.
