Funeral services for Gail Carlysle Shaffer will be at Hastings Funeral Home, Perry on Monday October 19th Elk Services at 3pm, with visitation beforehand from 1-3pm. Gail died at University Park Nursing and Rehab in Des Moines, IA on October 13th, 2015. He is survived by his son; Chris Shaffer of Des Moines, IA; Daughter Bettina (Damien) Pinches of Rosebud Victoria AU; 12 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren;5 great-great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.Gail was born on August 2, 1930, in Vinton, IA. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Shaffer; parents Arthur and Lura (McKinely) Shaffer; son David Lenz and daughter-in-law Heather Shaffer; brother Russell and his wife Norma Shaffer; sister Arlene Thompson and granddaughter Paula Badker.
