Gary Maddux

Mr. Maddux, 67, died November 27, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation gatherings will be held at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Gary Dean Maddux, son of Virgil Maddux and Thelma Miner Maddux was born August 20, 1944 in Jefferson, Iowa, and died November 27, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 67. Gary graduated from Jefferson High School in 1962. In 1970, Gary married Trudy Morris and they were blessed with two daughters, Julie and Jodie. They built a home in Bagley where they presently were residing. Gary was a faithful employee of Northern Natural Gas out of Redfield for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, reading, vacationing in Branson, MO, Hawkeye basketball and football, but his main love was his family, especially his grandsons. He was a dedicated member of the Bagley Church of Christ where he served as Decon, Trustee, and Chairman of the Board. After the church closing, he and Trudy attended the Bayard Church of Christ. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wayne and Willis, brothers-in-law, Earl Brant and Jake Stotts, and his parents- in-law Clint and Arlene Morris. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife Trudy of Bagley, IA; daughters Julie Hall of Sioux Falls, SD; Jodie Maddux of Waupaca, WI; grandsons Wyatt Hall and Andrew Macias; sister Shirley Stotts of Jefferson, IA; brothers Duane Maddux (Anne) of San Diego, CA; Bob Maddux (Kay) of Farmersville, TX; sisters-in-law Sylvia Maddux of San Antonio, TX and Vera Maddux of Littleton, CO; brother-in-law Ed Morris (Ellen) of Bagley, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
