Gay Agan

Agatha Gertrude Beem was born December 16, 1923 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Iva (Weaver) Beem. She graduated from Winterset High School. Gay went on to marry James Agan on June 29, 1946. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Berry (Stephen) of Winterset; 2 grandchildren, Bart Berry of Des Moines, Bret Berry of Watsonville, CA; 2 great grandchildren; Julia Berry and Noah Berry; and a brother, Elwood ‘Husky’ Beem (Jerry) of Humboldt, NE. Gay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; son; Jimmy Lee Agan; grandson, Lucas Berry; and two brothers, Elzia ‘Pete’ Beem and Eldon ‘Bus’ Beem. Gay was a waitress at Montross Pharmacy and also worked at the Country Store. She loved watching sporting events on T.V. and especially loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and putting together photo albums. She enjoyed crosswords and word puzzles and loved to travel. Gay passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Winterset Care Center South, Winterset. She was 84. Visitation: 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, where family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., June 15, 2008 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, Iowa.
