Visitation for Gladys Louise Hamman started at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry followed by a Graveside Service at 12:30 p.m. Chaplain Kelly Gefkjen from Hospice of the Midwest provided words of comfort. Honorary bearers were her grandchildren: Chad Sorber, Jamie Wuebker, Danelle Noel, Daniel Sease, Brian Heater, Mandy Gallentine and Amy Clark. Music chosen was "The Old Rugged Cross," "Remember When" by Alan Jackson and "I'll Fly Away." Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was in charge of these arrangements. Gladys Louise Hamman, daughter of Floyd Moore and Louise Lass Moore, was born February 10, 1930 in Berkley, Iowa and died May 21, 2020 at her home in Perry, Iowa. Gladys attended school in Berkley growing up. On October 4, 1948 Gladys and William Howard Hamman "Bill" were united in marriage. The couple was blessed with three daughters: Judy, Paula and Debbie. In 1967 the family moved to Perry. Gladys worked at the Perry Manor, cleaned houses for others and ironed for others. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling. She liked square dancing, gardening and loved traveling especially to Las Vegas. Most of all Gladys loved spending time with her family and grandkids. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Louise; husband William "Bill;" son-in-law Danny Sease; two sisters: Bev Null ( Richard) and Alice Brooks (John); and three brothers: George Moore, Carl Moore and Junior Moore (Margaret). Gladys is survived by her three daughters: Judy Sorber (Ron) of Perry, Paula Sease of Bayard and Debbie Heater (Steven) of Gilman; seven grandchildren: Chad Sorber (Audra), Jamie Wuebker (Josh), Danelle Noel (Jason), Daniel Sease (Jennifer), Brian Heater (Julie), Mandy Gallentine (Marc) and Amy Clark (Travis); fifteen great-grandchildren: McKenzie Sorber, Kennedy Sorber, Kaylee Wuebker, Reed Wuebker, Jacob Noel, Katelyn Noel, Lauren Sease, Logan Sease, Garrett Heater, Dylan Heater, Graysen Gallentine, Sydney Gallentine, Ethyn Clark, Evalyn Clark and Ensly Clark; brothers Keith Moore (Gay) of Ogden and Paul Moore (Paulina) of Perry; sisters-in-law: Donna Moore of Berkley and Florence Sitterle of Des Moines; brothers-in-law: Tom Hamman of Granger and Tim Hamman of Perry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
