Glenn R. Reed

Glenn R. Reed was born April 29, 1934 in Madison County, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Edith (Huss) Reed. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. Glenn later married Bertha Louise Bailey on February 14, 1957 in Des Moines, Iowa. Glenn is survived by his wife, Bertha of Winterset; two sons, Michael Reed (Launa) of Winterset and Mark Reed (Sara) also of Winterset; a sister-in-law, Ella Reed of Indianola; six grandchildren (Sasha, Erin, Blake, Josie, Bailey, and Jonah) and two great-grandchildren (Kyle and Andrew). He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David; a daughter-in-law, Alice and two brothers, Jack and Paul. Glenn was a pressman for Tension Envelope for 36 years. He was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church of Winterset. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling with his wife to Texas. Glenn died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at his home in Winterset. He was 74. Burial: Winterset Cemetery, Winterset, Iowa, with military honors by the American Legion Post 184 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8142. Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present to receive friends form 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Service: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare. Memorial: Memorials may be directed to the Foursquare Gospel Church, Winterset.
