Gloria Jean Daugherty (Griffin), (lovingly known as Glo), of Stuart, passed away Wednesday September 4, 2019 surrounded by her family. A private family service will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Chapel in Adel with private family burial at Panther Creek Cemetery near Adel. She was born July 16, 1936 to Arnold and Marjorie Griffin (Clark) in rural Brayton, Iowa. Glo was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making clothing for her kids and grandkids when they were younger. She also was a fabulous cook and known for her famous cheeseballs, cinnamon rolls and homemade pies. She was always up for a game of scrabble, a trip to the casino and always had the latest joke to tell. Glo loved her family and could often be found on the deck listening to Patsy Cline, enjoying a beverage with her kids. A life with love is a life well lived. She wore many hats throughout her life. Glo clerked auctions for Daugherty Auction Service, mended and altered clothing for many friends and families and also baked homemade pies for Patrick’s Restaurant. Left to cherish her memory are her six kids, Sheila (Dave), Curt (Deb), Penny (Gary), Pat (Lisa), Stu, Sarah (Rick) and her beloved dog Harry. Sisters Sandy, Sharon and Judy. 9 Grandkids, 16 Great Grandkids and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Dad Arnold, Mom Marjorie, Grandson Dagan and Great Grandson Jackson.
