Goldie was born September 13, 1926 in Luther, Iowa, the daughter of Leland Murray and Bertha Blanche (Mabbitt) Shade. She first married Harold Soloman and to this union five children were born. She later married Harry Brown. Goldie is survived by five children; Harold Soloman and wife, Debbie of Ames, Murray ‘Joe’ Soloman and wife Nancy; Donna Hanlin; Georgia Mickens, and Wes Soloman all of Des Moines; a brother, Murray Shade and wife, Delores of Creston; 27 grandchildren, Jessie Soloman, Jodi Dorsey, Doug Dorsey, Jim Dorsey, Rebecca, D.J., John Soloman, Andrew, Rickey, Jerry, Tracy Benton, Jonathan, Rico, Jeff, Johnny, Laweesa, Stacey, Clifford, Tishia, Sam, Mona, Tara, Christine, Nicole, Shane & Kristan; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Goldie was a homemaker. She loved embroidery, sewing, and crocheting. She was a good cook, liked to help others, drive friends to places they needed to go and take little road trips. Goldie died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the Continental Care Center in Seymour, Iowa. She was 80 years old.
