Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements for Gordon Holland Cromwell, 89, of Perry. Gordon died January 19, 2021 at his home. Graveside services will at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021, Violet Hill Cemetery, Perry, Iowa. Gordon Holland Cromwell, son of William Holland Henry Cromwell and Pearl Elizabeth McCool Cromwell, was born December 28, 1931 on a farm in Guthrie County, Iowa and died January 19, 2021 at his home in Perry, Iowa. Gordon met the love of his life Linnea Rose Tingwald and the two were united in marriage on March 28, 1959. They were blessed with three children: Rodney, Scott and Susan. The family made their home in Perry. Gordon worked for Davis Chemical, Dallas County Hospital and as a laborer at Oscar Meyer. He enjoyed watching the birds and seeing all the beautiful flowers outside. Gordon and Linnea went to the Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant every year. Gordon had a bucket list to take as many trips by car to as many states as possible. He liked watching NASCAR on Sundays. Gordon loved spending time with his family and his cat Peanut. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Linnea Rose Cromwell (2017), infant brother Galen and sister Wynona Pearl. Gordon will be dearly missed by his sons Rodney and Scott (Patty), daughter Susan all of Perry; grandchildren: Master Sergeant Chris Cromwell (Theresa) of Perry; Amanda Morris (Ryan) of Knoxville; Kelli Cromwell of Bloomington, IL, and Angela Keller of Perry; great-grandchildren Alissia Morris; Madison Morris; Andrew Morris; Charlee Cromwell; Kennedee Cromwell and Tiernee Cromwell; sisters Dolores Douglas (Jim) of Huxley and Shirley Montgomery of Wesley Chapel, FL; brother William Cromwell "Jr" of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Melissa Matthews of Perry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 1.
