Gwendolyn Bly

Gwendolyn Fay Bly passed away on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021, at Taylor house in Des Moines, IA surrounded by family and friends. Gwen was born on November 21st, 1945, in Knoxville, IA to Howard, and Hildreth Koons. Her life was one of love and devotion to her family and God. She was a member of the Watrous Terrace congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 46 years. She enjoyed sharing her hope for the future with others. One of her biggest joys was to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her smile, positive attitude and how she cared for others will be her legacy. She will be greatly missed by all while we await her return in paradise. Gwen was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Charles, her parents and 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children Diana “Chrissy” (Rick) Drake of Altoona, Rhonda (Wes) Hosler of Des Moines, and Brian Bly of Lamoni. Her 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Her sister Correne (Randy) Bennett of Knoxville; Brother Lyle “Butch” (Paula) Koons of Harvey; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.
