Harold Kephart, 58, of Winterset, died peacefully at his home on Monday, November 14, 2016. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, with burial to follow in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Harold LeRoy Kephart, son of Anderson and Mary (Hulbert) Kephart, was born July 14, 1958 in Winterset, Iowa. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1976 and was united in marriage with Debora Alexander on May 24, 1980, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Harold was a talented finish carpenter and worked for Olson Cabinet from 1976 to 2013. He was a member of The Winterset Car Club, CIA (Central Iowa Auto), and was an assistant Scout Master for many years. He was passionate about classic cars, collecting HO Scale Trains and he enjoyed going to auctions. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Harold is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debora Kephart of Winterset; children, Andrew (Jessica) Kephart of Winterset and Angela (Brad) Arensdorf of Memphis, TN; siblings, Ernest (Joan) Kephart of New Virginia, Jerry (Sharon) Kephart of Burleson, Texas, Dale (Connie) Kephart of St. Charles, Doris (Jeff) Dalton of Winterset, Everett (Elaine) Kephart of New Virginia, and Dorothy (Bill) McDonald of Winterset; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kinslee Kephart; sister-in-law, Carol Kephart; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne Kephart.
